Social Anxiety Phobia

My name is Graham Couzens and I have severe Social Phobia / Social Anxiety Disorder. I will share my daily activities and struggles with Social Anxiety Disorder.

"if I can move from "extreme right" to "extreme left" merely by standing in one place, drastic though unrecognized changes must have taken place throughout the American political spectrum over the last generation."-Murry Rothbard (1968)

Living With Social Phobia

March 7, 2006-I Am NOT a "Conservative Activist"

I decided that this site would be topical and focus only on Social Phobia. I decided to leave political viewpoints out of it. So this will be my rare, and hopefully definitive "political post."

I have been receiving a lot of invitations to join "conservative" email discussion lists. Most recently one invite said "Since I know you are a conservative activist." Oh yeah? I am a libertarian. Period.

There was a time when "conservatives" paid lip service to libertarianism and libertarian issues like small government, individualism, freedom, etc. That is no longer the case. The terms "conservative" and "liberal" have lost all meaning. For most "conservatives" ( and this can be observed on just about any thematic email list), the only issues that matter are sex and "security." Security of course is code-speak. The bogeymen are trotted out. "With us or against us."' blah blah blah. It's either about fightin' the War on Terra ( the ability to pronounce words and the "'or" syllable is apparently reserved for liberal elites) or a very unhealthy obsession with all things sex. "'Protect us from the homosexuals"- As if "the gays" are going hijack a bunch of planes and attack the United States. You know what, buddy, if you need someone to protect you or your marriage from homosexual sex, maybe you should just try abstaining (from gay sex).

I am also further annoyed by hypocrites. There are a lot of conservatives that only believe the Constitution applies to some people and throw out the 4th,5th, and 10th Amendments at their whim. The fact is political powers have no principles. They only believe in "rights" so far as they fit their agenda.

As for the spineless Democrats (liberals?)? They are either for the war or against it, blah blah blah. And it's the truth. No principled stands on any issues that matter for the freedom of citizens. Ruled by fear and their agendas. Here are some clues: War on Drugs, 50,000+ page federal tax code that wastes billions of dollars in compliance costs, Unjust Wars, School Choice, Eminent Domain (property rights).. How about taking a god-damned stand on something rather than trying to push through your tired self-congratulatory quasi-socialism. Try selling freedom instead. It's a much better product.

So you see, I am just like millions of other political orphans. There is no place for me in either major political party. I am neither a gay-basher nor a socialist. Only I happen to be a principled Libertarian. Top Libertarian-related sites: Hit and Run  TheAgitator.com  Non-Libertarians: Fucking losers
